Twelve
Airplant
Twelve is developing its first commercial scale eSAF production facility known as AirPlant One in Moses Lake, Washington, designed to produce sustainable aviation fuel by converting captured carbon dioxide, water, and renewable electricity into synthetic jet fuel using its proprietary carbon transformation technology. The plant is intended to produce drop in aviation fuel that can achieve up to 90 percent lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions reduction compared to conventional jet fuel and supply commercial airline and corporate offtake partners. Construction of the facility is supported by dedicated project financing and more than 600 million dollars in total project and corporate funding, including strategic investment participation from industrial partners such as Mitsui. AirPlant One is positioned as a first of its kind industrial eSAF facility in the United States and is expected to enter commercial operations in the mid 2020s, serving as a blueprint for scalable e-fuel deployment.
