Summit Utilities, in partnership with NREL, Electrochaea, Plug Power, and SoCalGas, is demonstrating a renewable Power-to-Gas (P2G) system in Maine that converts biogas from dairy manure into renewable natural gas (RNG) through biological methanation using renewable hydrogen. The project integrates electrolysis-based hydrogen production with Electrochaea’s biocatalyst to upgrade raw biogas into pipeline-quality methane
