ERA T.H2

The ERA T.H2 project is a planned commercial-scale Power-and-Biomass-to-Liquids (PBtL) e-fuels plant being developed by German cleantech company INERATEC in Normandy, France, positioned as one of the world's first commercial PBtL facilities. The plant will process approximately 60,000 tonnes per year of sustainably sourced residual wood biomass from regional forests and industrial operations, gasifying it to syngas and then converting that syngas using INERATEC's proprietary Fischer-Tropsch reactor technology, together with renewable hydrogen and electricity, into at least 13,000 tonnes per year of Fischer-Tropsch products including bio-e-SAF for aviation and bio-e-Naphtha as a chemical feedstock. On September 24, 2026, INERATEC and specialty chemicals company Haltermann Carless signed a Letter of Intent under which Haltermann Carless will purchase a significant annual volume of bio-e-SAF and bio-e-Naphtha from the plant for a minimum of ten years following commissioning, which is scheduled for 2029 with steady-state production expected from 2031.
