Green Coast

Lhyfe and Elyse Energy have partnered to launch Green Coast, a major e-methanol project at the Port of Nantes Saint-Nazaire in Montoir-de-Bretagne, France, aimed at decarbonizing maritime transport. The plan is for Lhyfe to build a green hydrogen facility producing up to 85 tonnes per day (210 MW electrolysis) by 2028, supplying Elyse to produce around 150,000 tonnes of e-methanol annually from renewable hydrogen and recycled CO₂. Supported by local authorities and the France 2030 ZIBaC program, the project’s feasibility study will conclude in 2025, with the fuel expected to cut emissions from shipping (which accounts for 14% of EU transport CO₂) while also supporting broader industrial and mobility decarbonization in the Loire Estuary.
