HIF Global
Haru Oni
HIF Haru Oni is the first operating e-Fuels facility in the world. The plant uses renewable energy from the wind and a process called electrolysis to produce green hydrogen. The project captures CO₂ from a biogenic source and use a process of synthesis to combine the CO₂ and hydrogen to produce e-Fuels, including synthetic green gasoline (e-Gasoline) and synthetic green Liquefied Gas (e-LG). The facility is preparing for the installation and future operation of the first Direct Air Capture unit in the world for e-Fuels production. Latest updates (1) Major construction work began in September 2021, and the first liters of synthetic fuels were produced in December 2022 (2) Holds ISCC Plus certification for 2023–24–25 and ISCC EU RFNBO certification for 2025 (3) Several exports to Porsche for events in Europe and USA, including PMSC 2024-25 (4) State-of-the-art laboratory conducting ~100 analyses per day (5) Highly trained team with valuable lessons learned for future commercial facilities (6) Some of the facility’s main equipment are the Silyzer 200 electrolyzer; the Siemens Gamesa 3.4 MW wind turbine that provides renewable energy for the electrolysis process; and the MtG (Methanol to Gasoline) technology
