Hy2Gen
Hynovera
The products are synthesized from biogenic CO2 combined with an electrolysis unit, powered by local renewable electricity guaranteed by a long-term PPA. Capacity is planned to be 130MW electrolysis and 123.000 tons/year CO2. Production would reach 32.000 t/year for e-SAF, and 700 t/year for e-Diesel. It consists of proposing a renewable and circular economy alternative to the planned closure of the Meyreuil/Gardanne coal-fired power plant. Gardanne coal mine closed in 2003, and a territorial act was signed in 2020 to open the soon-to-be unused land spaces to industrial activities of energy production, within the ecological transition framework. The location offers huge opportunities: within Aix-Marseille metropolitan and economic area, linked to road and railroad transportation means, near Marseille Provence International Airport. Hynovera is intended to answer local needs for renewable fuels. It will produce E-Kerosene from CO2 capture on an industrial scale compatible with the decarbonization challenges of the aviation sector, without its CO2 impact.
