Ren-Gas
Lahti
The Lahti 2 project is a large-scale power-to-gas facility being developed in Lahti at the Kymijärvi site, designed to produce green hydrogen and renewable e-methane by combining renewable electricity with captured CO₂. The project includes approximately 100 MW of hydrogen electrolysis capacity and 50 MW of e-methane production capacity, utilizing around 80,000 tonnes per year of captured carbon dioxide. The facility is targeting commercial start-up in 2028 and has secured major public funding support, including approximately €45 million in operating support over 10 years through the EU Hydrogen Bank Auction for green hydrogen production and €28 million in investment support from Finland’s Ministry of Employment and the Economy for carbon capture and e-methane production infrastructure.
