MetGreenPort
Grupo Anasol (via its green hydrogen unit Hydron) is developing the MetGreenPort green methanol production facility at the Port of Huelva in Andalusia, Spain. In its first phase, the plant will use approximately 200 MW of electrolyser capacity to produce about 150,000 tonnes per year of green methanol from green hydrogen generated on site from renewable electricity and captured CO₂ sourced from nearby industries. The first phase is planned to begin operations around 2027. MetGreenPort is designed as the anchor of a larger development that could ultimately scale to up to 800 MW of electrolysis capacity and about 1 million tonnes of annual renewable methanol production by 2029, potentially making it the largest green methanol facility in Europe.
