Oman LNG e-Methane Pilot
Oman LNG has partnered with Kanadevia Corporation to carry out a Pre‑FEED (front‑end engineering) study for a pilot methanation plant, alongside a full Concept Study for a future, commercial-scale facility. The pilot plant is planned to produce 1,200 Nm³/h of “e‑methane” by combining captured CO₂ with hydrogen made via water electrolysis, while a larger plant is being evaluated for an output of 18,000 Nm³/h. This project supports Oman’s net-zero-by-2050 ambitions by using carbon capture and utilization (CCU) technology, leveraging existing LNG infrastructure, and helping scale up synthetic methane production
