Marubeni
Peru e-NG
Marubeni Corporation, in partnership with PERU LNG S.R.L. and Osaka Gas, has initiated a Pre-FEED study for a renewable methane (e-methane) production facility at the PERU LNG liquefaction terminal in Peru. The project is designed to produce approximately 60,000 tonnes per year of e-methane by combining green hydrogen, generated via electrolysis powered by renewable energy with carbon dioxide sourced at the LNG terminal. The resulting e-methane has the same composition as natural gas and can be used in existing pipelines and infrastructure, supporting gas decarbonization efforts. The Pre-FEED study covers renewable energy and CO₂ supply conditions, plant specifications, and economic feasibility, with partners targeting a final investment decision by 2025 and aiming for production and sales to begin by 2030 if development proceeds to execution.
