Power2X
Power2X Estonia
Power2X's green methanol production project proposed for the Niidu industrial area in Pärnu, Estonia, envisioning Europe’s largest methanol facility with an annual production capacity of up to 500,000 tonnes of green methanol derived from sustainably sourced biomass by-products and green hydrogen produced using wind power, with a planned start of operations in 2028 and an estimated investment of over €1 billion. However, in mid-2025 the developer halted the project plans, discontinuing the planned billion-euro methanol plant, with the company citing market and investment considerations as reasons for suspending the initiative.
