Project Alby
Project Alby is a large-scale sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) development in Ånge, northern Sweden, led by Norsk e-Fuel in partnership with Prime Capital and RES. The facility will use a Power-to-Liquid (PtL) process, combining renewable hydrogen with captured CO₂ to produce e-kerosene as a direct substitute for fossil jet fuel. With access to abundant low-cost renewable electricity and strong transport links, the site is designed to produce around 80,000 tons of e-Fuel annually, making it one of the largest SAF projects in Europe. In April 2025, the project secured its legally binding Environmental Permit, enabling construction of up to 500 MW of electrolyzer capacity to generate green hydrogen, part of which will be converted into SAF.
