SkyNRG / Skellefteå
Project SkyKraft
SkyNRG and Skellefteå Kraft are partnering on Project SkyKraft, a large-scale initiative launched in 2022 to produce 100,000 tonnes of eSAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel from renewable electricity and biogenic CO₂) in Northern Sweden by around 2030. Positioned at the Port of Skellefteå, the project leverages nearly 100% fossil-free renewable energy from hydro and wind, alongside Sweden’s vast biogenic CO₂ potential—with SkyKraft requiring just 1% of current national emissions. This pioneering effort will support EU and UK SAF blending mandates, create about 100 skilled jobs, and strengthen Skellefteå’s role as a hub for next-generation green industry while helping the aviation sector progress toward net zero emissions.
