Star e-Methanol
the Star Power-to-X e-methanol facility on the Texas Gulf Coast, designed to produce up to ~300,000 metric tonnes per year of low-carbon e-methanol using renewable electricity, green hydrogen, and captured CO₂. In March 2024, the project was selected by the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations for up to $100 million in federal industrial decarbonization funding to support front-end engineering and construction. However, the DOE later rescinded the awarded funding in 2025, removing the previously announced federal financial support while the underlying project concept remains positioned as a large-scale e-fuel production development.
