The Next Gate

The Next Gate project in Hamburg, Germany is a pioneering Power-to-Liquid (PtL) demonstration facility developed by MB Energy (Mabanaft) in partnership with H&R Group through their joint venture P2X-Europe. Commissioned in 2022, the plant converts green hydrogen and biogenic CO₂ into synthetic hydrocarbons, producing approximately 200 tonnes per year of eFuels for transport applications and 150 tonnes per year of synthetic e-waxes for industrial and consumer markets. The project serves as a technical proof-of-concept for scalable e-fuel and e-chemical production and supports the broader decarbonization of fuels and materials supply chains.
