SAF plus International
Vemo SAF+ Quebec mineral-H₂-to-SAF
Vema Hydrogen and SAF+ International Group signed an MOU to build an integrated synthetic sustainable aviation fuel hub in Quebec, pairing Vema's Engineered Mineral Hydrogen directly with e-fuel synthesis. Vema will supply over 4,000 tonnes per year of low-carbon hydrogen to SAF+ IG starting around 2028, sourced from Vema's EMH extraction project in Quebec. SAF+ IG will co-locate its commercial e-fuel facility directly at Vema's upstream hydrogen site, allowing pipeline-free delivery of hydrogen into the fuel-synthesis loop and eliminating cross-regional hydrogen transport. The facility will combine the mineral hydrogen with captured CO₂ to produce drop-in synthetic aviation fuel, using proprietary modular reactor technology from French developer KHIMOD configured to maximize selectivity toward the kerosene cut. The installation is KHIMOD's first commercial deployment in North America.
