Jilin Huajin Energy
Yushu Green Methanol Project
Carbon Recycling International (CRI) and Jilin Huajin Energy are developing the Yushu Green Methanol Project in Jilin Province, China, with production targeted for mid-2027. The $3 billion facility will be China’s first large-scale plant to combine e-methanol—produced from renewable hydrogen and captured CO₂—and bio-methanol from biomass gasification, with capacities of 120,000 and 150,000 tonnes per year, respectively. Using CRI’s Emissions-to-Liquids (ETL) technology and ISCC certification, the project is expected to cut about 410,000 tonnes of CO₂ annually and supply green methanol to the maritime sector in Europe and Asia, positioning it as one of the world’s largest integrated low-carbon methanol projects.
