Agro Power Düngemittel Carbon Capture Project

StyriaFert, a Styrian fertilizer producer, is currently supplying CO₂ to Energie Steiermark’s Renewable Gasfield project in Gabersdorf, where it is combined with green hydrogen from a 6,000 m² PV-powered electrolyzer via catalytic methanation to produce synthetic methane for injection into the regional gas grid. By providing a continuous CO₂ supply, StyriaFert enables circular carbon utilization, turning industrial emissions into renewable synthetic gas, reducing net CO₂ emissions, and supporting Austria’s emerging hydrogen and green-gas infrastructure.
