Ammonia-7

QatarEnergy is developing the world’s largest blue ammonia plant in Mesaieed Industrial City, scheduled to start operations in mid-2026. The $1.2 billion project will produce 1.2 million tonnes of blue ammonia annually, using natural gas–derived hydrogen paired with carbon capture and storage. The facility will capture and store 1.5 million tonnes of CO₂ per year and integrate over 35 MW of solar power to lower emissions. Engineering, procurement, and construction are being delivered by a consortium led by thyssenkrupp and Consolidated Contractors Company (CCC).
