CO2 Energie
Baden BECCS
The Baden project by Airfix and partners is Switzerland’s largest BECCS initiative, capturing around 4,300 t CO₂ per year from a biogas plant near Zurich and permanently storing it in Northern Europe. Backed by a CHF 10 million commitment from the Swiss Climate Cent Foundation, the system—developed with CO₂ Energie AG, South Pole, and Carbon Impact—is scheduled to start operations by late 2025, removing about 21,800 t CO₂ over five years.
