BECCS Kirkenær

Carbon Centric is developing a carbon capture plant at Solør Bioenergi’s combined heat and power (CHP) facility in Kirkenær, south-east Norway. The CHP plant operates on wood chips derived from end-of-life, non-recyclable treated wood, and supplies process heat, district heating, and electricity to nearby industries. The planned capture facility will remove approximately 30,000 tonnes of CO₂ annually - exclusively from biogenic sources. Carbon Centric has submitted a planning notification with a proposed study program for a carbon capture facility at Bolør Bioenergi's CHP plant in Kirkenær, Grue municipality. F
