Exomad Green
Concepción Biochar Facility
Exomad Green’s Concepción facility is a commercial-scale biochar carbon removal project located in eastern Bolivia that converts sustainably sourced forestry residues into stable biochar through industrial pyrolysis systems designed for long-duration carbon sequestration. The site represents the company’s first large-scale deployment and serves as a cornerstone for its modular expansion strategy, integrating digital MRV monitoring and standardized carbon removal certification pathways. Feedstock primarily consists of wood residues from managed forestry operations, reducing open burning and enabling circular biomass utilization while generating soil-enhancing biochar for agricultural applications. Following capacity expansions, the facility has reached approximately 140,000 tCO₂/year removal capacity, demonstrating scalable biochar production at industrial throughput levels and establishing operational benchmarks for Exomad’s subsequent facilities.
