DG Fuels Maine SAF

DG Fuels has signed a long-term lease for 1,240 acres at the former Loring Air Force Base in northern Maine to build its second Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) plant, expected to produce about 175 million gallons per year of SAF from regional biomass and renewable hydrogen. The project, planned to break ground in 2024 and begin operations around 2027, will use Maine’s abundant hydroelectric power and waste biomass to achieve an ultra-low or even negative carbon intensity
