Essar Oil / Progressive Energy
EET Hydrogen Hub
Essar Energy Transition (EET Hydrogen) is developing a large low-carbon hydrogen production hub at the Stanlow site in the UK as part of the HyNet industrial decarbonisation cluster. The project will be delivered in phases: HPP1 will deliver about 350 MW of hydrogen and is expected to begin production by 2028, with construction starting in 2025. The second phase, HPP2, will scale the facility to 1,000 MW, within an overall target of over 4,000 MW by 2030. Together the projects aim to capture around 2.5 million tonnes of CO₂ per year, supplying low-carbon hydrogen locally to industries like the Stanlow refinery, glass, chemicals and manufacturing, helping decarbonise heavy-industry in North West England.
