Enerkem Alberta Biofuels

Enerkem announced it will retire its Edmonton (Enerkem Alberta Biofuels) facility beginning in 2024. The plant, which had achieved over 15,000 hours of operation producing ethanol and methanol, served as a commercial demonstration of Enerkem’s waste-to-biofuels technology. With its objectives met, Enerkem is winding down operations there to focus on deploying its technology in larger waste-to-chemicals and fuels projects.
