EU ACCSESS Project Gorazdze

Heidelberg Materials is running a suite of decarbonisation pilots at its large Górażdże cement complex in Poland that combine (a) Saipem-led post-combustion CO₂ capture testing (including Saipem solvent formulations and a compact Rotating Packed Bed absorber developed under the EU ACCSESS project) and (b) an enforced-carbonation/ReConcrete pilot that mineralises CO₂ into recycled-concrete products work intended to demonstrate capture and CO₂-use routes at near-industrial scale and to de-risk wider CCS/CCU deployment for cement.
