Forus Energi Sandnes Carbon Capture Project

Aker Carbon Capture has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Lyse and Forus Energi to jointly evaluate carbon capture and storage (CCS) opportunities at the Forus waste-to-energy plant near Stavanger, Norway. Under the agreement, the partners will explore capturing CO₂ emissions from the plant’s flue gases, with the aim of identifying and advancing a CCS solution that can significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions from municipal and commercial waste incineration. Lyse and Forus Energi bring local energy system expertise and plant operation capabilities, while Aker Carbon Capture provides CCS technology and project development experience in post-combustion capture systems.
