LanzaJet's Freedom Pines Fuels project is the world’s first commercial-scale facility converting ethanol into Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) using its proprietary Alcohol-to-Jet (ATJ) technology. Located in Soperton, Georgia, the $200 million biorefinery, backed by investors including Breakthrough Energy and Microsoft’s Climate Innovation Fund, officially opened in January 2024 and is designed to produce approximately 10 million gallons annually.
