Go4ECOPlanet
The Kujawy Go4ECOPlanet project is a large-scale carbon capture and storage (CCS) initiative at the Kujawy Cement Plant in central Poland that will install a dedicated capture facility to remove 100 percent of CO₂ emissions from clinker production, the most CO₂-intensive part of cement manufacturing. The system will use Air Liquide’s Cryocap™ FG cryogenic capture and liquefaction technology to separate and purify CO₂ from the plant’s flue gases and produce pipeline-ready liquefied CO₂ for export and offshore geological storage beneath the North Sea. The facility aims to capture around 1.0–1.2 million tonnes of CO₂ per year, helping eliminate a significant share of the cement sector’s emissions in Poland and paving the way toward one of Europe’s first net-zero cement plants. The project is supported by a €228 million grant from the EU Innovation Fund as part of a roughly €380 million investment to build the capture infrastructure and develop the full capture-to-storage value chain. Construction and commissioning of the capture plant are targeted around 2027, after which CO₂ will be transported by rail and ship to designated storage sites for permanent sequestration.
