Holcim Fujairah Carbon Capture Pilot Project

Holcim and 44.01 have teamed up to launch the world’s first pilot that captures CO₂ directly from a cement plant’s emissions and permanently stores it through mineralization in underground rock formations in Fujairah, UAE. The project, supported by the Fujairah Natural Resources Corporation, uses NT Energies to deploy carbon capture technology from Shell CANSOLV™ and applies 44.01’s mineralization process to convert about 5 t/day of CO₂ into stable solid minerals.
