Houston Ship Channel Low Carbon Ammonia Project

The project is a pre-FEED low-carbon ammonia development on the Houston Ship Channel led by Vopak Moda Houston, Air Liquide, INPEX, and LSB Industries. It is designed to produce approximately 1.1 million tonnes per year of low-carbon ammonia and capture at least 1.6 million tonnes per year of CO₂ from hydrogen and process units for transport and permanent geological storage. Project advancement has slowed due to limited offtake commitments for low-carbon hydrogen and ammonia, delaying commercial structuring and investment decisions while partners continue technical and market evaluation.
