JSW Steel Vijayanagar Carbon Capture Project

BHP, JSW Steel, and Carbon Clean have entered a joint study agreement to explore deploying Carbon Clean’s CycloneCC modular carbon capture technology at JSW Steel’s Vijayanagar site in India. The feasibility work aims to capture up to 100,000 tonnes of CO₂ per year, which would be the largest use of CycloneCC in steelmaking to date. The study will assess costs, performance, space requirements, and integration issues, with results expected by 2026. If successful, JSW intends to liquefy the captured CO₂ for local sale or use.
