Kredsløb Lisbjerg Carbon Capture Project

Kredsløb plans to build a CO₂ capture facility at the Lisbjerg Energipark, capturing emissions from both its waste to energy plant and its straw and wood chip fueled district heating plant. The project aims to capture about 435,000 tonnes of CO₂ per year starting in 2029 and contribute to making Aarhus climate neutral by 2030. The captured CO₂ will be stored underground either in state approved domestic sites or in the North Sea, with funding from the state, CO₂ credits, and municipal guarantees.
