Energy Transfer
Lima Tango CCS
Energy Transfer’s Las Tiendas Natural Gas Processing Plant is supplying carbon dioxide to the Lima Tango CCS 1 project, developed by BKV dCarbon Ventures, for permanent geologic sequestration in McMullen County, Texas. The project is permitted by the Texas Railroad Commission to inject up to 9.5 million standard cubic feet per day of CO₂, equivalent to approximately 177,000 metric tonnes per year, into the Queen City Formation at depths between 3,508 and 4,870 feet. Captured CO₂ from Energy Transfer’s Las Tiendas facility will be transported to the dedicated Lima Tango CCS 1 injection well, which is scheduled for drilling and completion in Q3 2025, with injection operations expected to begin in early 2026. The project is designed for an operational injection period of approximately 12 years, providing long term carbon storage capacity and supporting emissions reductions from midstream natural gas processing operations in South Texas.
