Linde SMR H2 Plant Carbon Capture
Linde with partners including Linde Engineering and Svante Inc., will develop an initial engineering design for a commercial-scale carbon capture plant at its SMR hydrogen facility in Port Arthur, Texas. Using Svante’s VeloxoTherm™ solid adsorbent technology, the system aims to capture ~1 million tonnes of CO₂ annually at >90% efficiency while producing 99.97% pure blue hydrogen. The design will cover both ISBL and OSBL components, and the team will conduct a techno-economic analysis to estimate capture and hydrogen production costs.
