Linkoping EfW CCS

Capsol Technologies ASA has been awarded a carbon capture process design contract as part of an ongoing feasibility study for installing its CapsolEoP® end-of-pipe capture technology at Tekniska Verken’s Gärstaverket energy-from-waste (EfW) plant in Linköping, southern Sweden. The contract covers development of the capture process design to support decision-making on full technology selection and potential future deployment of CO₂ capture at the facility. The project targets a full-scale capture potential of around 250,000 tonnes of CO₂ per year from the EfW plant’s flue gas if the capture system moves into detailed design and construction. The feasibility work is funded in part through Industriklivet, a Swedish Energy Agency programme supporting industrial decarbonization, and is being coordinated with engineering support from Rambøll as the owner’s engineer.
