Marcegaglia AdriatiCO2

The AdriatiCO₂ carbon capture project is being developed by Marcegaglia Ravenna at its steel facility in Ravenna, Italy to capture CO₂ from the site’s cogeneration plant and green DRI unit. The system is designed to capture up to 112,000 tonnes of CO₂ per year, reducing more than 40% of direct site emissions. Captured CO₂ will be conditioned and transported for offshore geological storage through Italy’s emerging CCS network. The project is supported by the EU Innovation Fund and financing from the European Investment Bank, and forms part of Marcegaglia’s industrial decarbonization program in the Ravenna industrial hub.
