Neil Simpson Blue Hydrogen
The Wyoming low-carbon hydrogen and CCS project is being developed by Black Hills Energy with Babcock & Wilcox (B&W) near Gillette, Wyoming. The project will use B&W’s BrightLoop™ hydrogen generation technology with integrated CO₂ capture to produce low-carbon hydrogen from natural gas and condition the captured CO₂ for permanent geological storage. In 2024, the project received a State of Wyoming grant to advance front-end engineering and feasibility work. B&W is supplying the BrightLoop™ process and capture technology, while Black Hills Energy is leading project development and site integration.
