neustark Mattstetten Facility

Neustark, together with Swiss building materials provider Alluvia, has commissioned a second CO₂ storage site in Mattstetten near Bern. The facility will permanently store around 600 tonnes of biogenic CO₂ per year by mineralizing CO₂ captured from a nearby biogas plant into demolition concrete granules. The short transport distance (about 14 km) between the CO₂ source, storage site, and recycled concrete production ensures low logistics emissions.
