NG3
The NG3 CCS project connects the New Generation Gas Gathering (NG3) natural gas processing system in Louisiana to ExxonMobil Pipeline Company’s CO₂ transport and storage network. The project captures approximately 1.2 Mtpa of CO₂ from NG3 gas processing operations and transports the compressed CO₂ via ExxonMobil’s dedicated pipeline infrastructure to geologic storage. The CCS system utilizes a shared trunkline model, allowing third-party industrial sources to connect into a centralized CO₂ transportation corridor rather than developing standalone pipelines. A milestone update announced February 17, 2026 confirmed startup activities associated with the NG3 CCS tie-in, including commissioning of pipeline infrastructure and integration of capture facilities with ExxonMobil’s CO₂ pipeline network. The system relies on high-pressure CO₂ transport pipelines linking capture sources to centralized injection sites, where CO₂ is permanently sequestered in subsurface Gulf Coast formations. The NG3 connection represents an operational expansion of ExxonMobil Pipeline Company’s CCS infrastructure, adding a natural gas processing source into the regional CO₂ transport system.
