Novocarbo Carbon Removal Park Baltic Sea

Novocarbo issued its first carbon removal credits from a biochar-infused asphalt pilot at its Carbon Removal Park Baltic Sea in Germany. The plant removes about 3,200 t CO₂ annually while producing biochar and renewable heat. In partnership with Hansa Asphalt, roughly 7 t of biochar (3% of the mix) were added to asphalt to create a carbon-negative, more durable surface. The credits were verified under the European Biochar Certificate, advancing low-carbon construction materials.
