Project Cypress Southwest

Project Cypress is a proposed hub that will use an innovative carbon removal process known as Direct Air Capture, or DAC, to pull excess carbon dioxide (CO2) directly from the atmosphere and store it safely and permanently underground. The Louisiana-based Project Cypress hub will include two facilities that will combine two types of DAC technology to remove more than one million metric tons of CO2 directly from the atmosphere each year while providing economic, educational, and workforce opportunities to the communities they serve. The Project Cypress Southwest facility will be located in Calcasieu Parish near Vinton, and the Project Cypress Northwest facility will be located in Caddo Parish at the Port of Caddo-Bossier.
