Project FUREC

The FUREC project in the Netherlands will convert ~700,000 tonnes of non-recyclable waste annually into 54,000 tonnes of hydrogen and a pure CO₂ stream, replacing natural gas in chemical production and avoiding ~3.6 Mt CO₂ in its first decade. Supported by a €108M EU Innovation Fund grant, the €685M plant is scheduled to start operations in 2028.
