Project Genesis

Avioxx’s “Project Genesis” is a medium-scale sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production plant under development in Cheshire, United Kingdom, planned for launch in 2027. The facility is designed to process about 38,000 tonnes per year of waste feedstock and convert it into approximately 5,000 tonnes of SAF annually, leveraging a novel integrated process that combines gasification, electrochemical energy generation, solid oxide fuel cells, and Fischer-Tropsch synthesis to improve efficiency and sustainability. The project is strategically aligned with the HyNet carbon capture infrastructure to ensure captured CO₂ is sequestered or utilised, and Avioxx estimates that the plant will avoid roughly 45,800–57,500 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent emissions per year by diverting waste from incineration and producing low-carbon jet fuel. Project Genesis serves as a demonstration step toward Avioxx’s larger 32,000 TPA “Project Ascend” commercial rollout in 2028
