SkyNRG
Project Wigeon
SkyNRG’s Project Wigeon is a commercial scale sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and renewable diesel production facility under development at the Port of Walla Walla’s Wallula Gap Industrial Park in Washington State, representing the company’s first SAF production plant in North America. The facility is designed to produce approximately 50 million gallons per year (about 150,000 tonnes) of SAF, targeting supply to West Coast aviation markets and regions supported by clean fuel standards and decarbonization mandates. The project focuses on converting renewable natural gas (RNG) or biogenic methane sourced from landfills, wastewater treatment plants, agricultural waste, and other organic streams into drop in jet fuel, positioning it among the first commercial scale RNG to SAF facilities in North America. Environmental approvals have been secured, allowing the project to advance into engineering and development phases, with construction expected to generate significant local employment and startup anticipated toward the end of the decade. Strategic partnerships and industry collaboration, including engagement with aerospace stakeholders such as Boeing, support project commercialization and help anchor long term SAF demand while contributing to the scaling of domestic low carbon aviation fuel supply. Engineering is ongoing, construction of the project is expected to begin in 2027 and we anticipate SAF/RD production beginning in 2030.
