Rakkestad CCU

Carbon Centric has commissioned a carbon capture plant at Østfold Energi’s waste-to-energy facility in Rakkestad, Norway. The plant, which entered operation in September 2025, is a carbon capture and utilization (CCU) project with a capture capacity of approximately 10,000 tonnes of CO₂ per year. It provides valuable operational experience and serves as a demonstrator for future projects. The facility is among the world’s first full-scale carbon capture plants at a waste incineration site.
