REAZN
Reazn Kruisem Carbon Capture Project
French carbon capture technology provider Revcoo has partnered with recycled zinc producer Reazn to deploy Revcoo's proprietary CarbonCloud cryogenic capture system at Reazn's zinc alloy production facility in Kruisem, East Flanders, Belgium, targeting an annual capture capacity of between 5,000 and 8,000 tonnes of CO₂ from the plant's process flue gas. CarbonCloud is a fully electric cryogenic process that freezes and conditions CO₂ from industrial flue gas without chemical solvents or water inputs, producing a 99.99% purity liquid or gaseous CO₂ product that can be directly containerized on-site for transport, utilization, or permanent geological storage without requiring connection to a centralized CO₂ pipeline network. Reazn plans to evaluate both commercial utilization pathways and permanent storage options for the captured CO₂. The partners are initiating a joint technical and economic feasibility study, to be followed by front-end engineering design (FEED) pending positive evaluation, with full operational deployment at the Kruisem plant scheduled for late 2028. The project is Revcoo's first deployment in the metals manufacturing sector following earlier deployments across the lime and cement industries, and is intended to validate cryogenic capture for hard-to-abate industrial emissions in the zinc and broader non-ferrous metals sector.
