Rebound
Technip Energies, Airbus, Safran, and Tereos announced on June 9, 2026 an agreement to create Rebound, a joint venture to develop a large-scale Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) production project at the Port of Dunkirk in Northern France. The facility will use the Alcohol-to-Jet (AtJ) pathway to produce approximately 160,000 tonnes of SAF per year from advanced ethanol made from agricultural and forestry residues. Technip Energies will act as lead developer and engineering service provider; Airbus and Safran join as industrial partners, offtake facilitators, and potential SAF offtakers; and Tereos, a French agricultural cooperative and European leader in ethanol production, will supply the advanced ethanol feedstock. The partners are committing funding for the development phase, including engineering studies and other activities required to reach a Final Investment Decision. The Port of Dunkirk has already awarded Technip Energies an industrial site that will provide logistical advantages and a streamlined permitting pathway for Rebound. The joint venture's formation is subject to customary closing conditions and approvals and is expected to be finalized in the second half of 2026.
