Redcar Energy Centre Carbon Capture Project

Redcar Holdings Limited, a joint venture between Low Carbon and PMAC Energy, has signed an agreement with the Northern Endurance Partnership to explore connecting its planned 49 MW Redcar Energy Centre to regional carbon capture and storage infrastructure. If realized, the facility could become one of the first waste-to-energy plants in the UK to achieve net-zero or carbon-negative operations by routing captured CO₂ for permanent storage under the North Sea, with operations targeted to begin in 2025.
