RYAM Jesup Carbon Utilization Project

Rayonier Advanced Materials (RYAM) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Verso Energy to explore the development of an e-fuel production facility at RYAM’s Jesup, Georgia site. The project aims to capture biogenic CO₂ from RYAM’s manufacturing operations and combine it with green hydrogen produced via electrolysis to create sustainable aviation fuel (e-SAF). The initiative leverages RYAM’s existing industrial infrastructure and renewable carbon streams while supporting broader efforts to decarbonize the aviation sector. Both companies will conduct feasibility studies covering CO₂ capture, hydrogen production, and e-fuel synthesis, with a final investment decision expected within 18 to 24 months.
